I design tattoos, obviously. But there have been some questions along the way and I'm using this journal entry to answer those, or any others that may arise......



Can I use your design for my tattoo?

Unless I specifically say otherwise, yes you can. I ALWAYS say in my artist comments who the tattoo design was made for, if it was made for someone at all. If it wasnt made specifically for someone else, yes you can use the design for you own body modification.

If the tattoo WAS made for somebody else, NO you may not use the tattoo. If the tattoo is for one person and one person only, I ask that you RESPECT my wishes and NOT use the design.

Failure to comply will result in the following:

A written apology to myself.
A written apology to the person who's tattoo gift you stole/used.

You owing me some money royalties, as you stole my artwork and used it without my expressed permission.


I may say no to you, regardless of whether or not the design was meant for someone else or not. It's my right as an artist. ***But more often than not, I find it flattering that you want to use my artwork on your body.***



This tattoo doesnt have anyone's name on it, and someone else got it done. Can I still use it?

If the tattoo wasnt a gift for someone, and even though someone else used the design for themselves, just give me a heads up.

The tattoo design was used by someone else, but that doesnt mean you cant either. It's when the tattoo was a gift for someone else that I say no.



Do I owe you any money if I use your tattoo design?

Only if you stole it without my permission. Your body is about to become a part of my "gallery", and I greatly appreciate you wanting to use my work on your body. As long as you didnt steal the artwork, I wont ask for any money from you.



Do you expect anything from me if I get your design tattooed on me?

A photograph of the work. And permission to use the image on my art Myspace as a part of my "artist's resume". I think it's only fair, really. I let you use my artwork, you let me use your picture. Credit given where it is definitely due.



Do you take commissions for tattoo designs?

Most definitely!! If there isnt anything in my gallery that doesnt quite fit your needs, dont hesitate to ask. I'll gladly take on a project that helps you along your body modification process.



Will someone use my tattoo design?

If they do, they're fucked.
